Bitsy is a Hahns Macaw

Meet Bitsy, My Sweet, Silly Velcro Hahn’s Macaw Bitsy is truly one of the most loving, funny, and affectionate little birds you will ever meet. She is a Hahn’s macaw with a huge personality packed into a small body, and she is a total Velcro bird. Bitsy’s favorite place to be is with you. She loves riding on your shoulder, following you around the house, doing whatever you are doing, or snuggling up under your chin to preen and fall asleep. She thrives on connection and interaction. Bitsy loves to sing and dance with her people and will happily whistle along with you. Bitsy talks a little too and will say things like “hello,” “kisses,” “come on,” “what,” and “come here.” She makes kissy sounds and funny little clicking noises, almost like she is calling a dog. She is endlessly charming and full of personality. She is confident, curious, and very alert. She can be aggressive toward birds her own size or smaller, especially birds that are shy or do not stand up for themselves, and she can be a bit of a bully in that way. She does best being kept separate from those birds. Interestingly, she enjoys being near larger birds. She will go outside on a harness. Bitsy does not do well being alone for long periods of time. She is very smart and needs daily enrichment, affection, and engagement. In return, she gives so much love. She is a truly wonderful bird and will make someone very, very happy.
